Republican congressman Peter King (NY) is being dragged all over Twitter after having a hot meltdown on Saturday morning, complaining about a report saying that New York Jets owner Christopher Johnson would pay the fines for any of his players who continued to kneel during the national anthem despite a new National Football League ban.
Descending into an angry rant, King blasted the move as “disgraceful” and compared the protest to a Nazi salute.
“Disgraceful that @nyjets owner will pay fines for players who kneel for National Anthem,” the blustery congressman wrote on Twitter. “Encouraging a movement premised on lies vs. police. Would he support all player protests? Would he pay fines of players giving Nazi salutes or spew racism? It’s time to say goodbye to Jets!” he added.
Twitter users had some harsh words in response.

THIS is what you’re tweeting about?!!!!!!! It’s a disgrace that our country’s policy is to separate parents and children at the border. I’ve voted for you in the past. This time around I will do all in my power to vote you OUT!!!!

Be thankful, Mr. King, that you really don’t have to worry about your children being shot if they get pulled over. For many parents, that is the fear they live with everyday. By no fault of their own. That’s what this is about.

Uh, isn't freedom of speech and protest a constitutional right? Aren't the GOP big on that Amendment, or is focus now only on #2?

You better grab all the money you're going to be voted out Bravo Jets

One of your jobs is to defend the constitution. Perhaps you should learn something about it? You are a disgrace and an embarrassment to the office you hold.

What's disgraceful is that you think peaceful protest of unarmed poc being unjustly killed by police is anything remotely like a nazi salute. You say the movement is oremised on lies? Did all those ynarmed people deserve to be murdered?

You sound like Trump, which means you sound like a fascist. I can’t wait to vote you out in November.
