Restaurant Owner Comes Clean As To Why She Kicked Out Sarah Sanders, Here’s What She Said:
Stephanie Wilkinson, co-owner of The Red Hen restaurant in Lexington, Virginia, spoke to the Washington Post on Saturday to explain exactly why she kicked out White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders from her restaurant.
Wilkinson explained that her employees felt concerned about having Sanders eating at the restaurant.
“[The chef] said the staff is a little concerned. What should we do?” Wilkinson told The Post. “I said I’d be down to see if it’s true.”
“I’m not a huge fan of confrontation,” she added. “I have a business, and I want the business to thrive. This feels like the moment in our democracy when people have to make uncomfortable actions and decisions to uphold their morals.”
One of Wilkins and the employees biggest concerns was that Sanders has been complicit in the way the administration has been treating migrant families.
Wilkins decided to run the decision through her employees by voting on whether they should kick Sanders out or not.
“Tell me what you want me to do. I can ask her to leave,” Wilkinson told the Post she said to her staff. “They said yes.”
Wilkinson added that the administration is “inhumane and unethical.”
