Rudy Giuliani Just Joined Trump’s Legal Team: Report
On Thursday, the Washington Post reported that longtime Trump friend and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani has joined the president’s legal team.
Jay Sekulow, counsel to the president, confirmed the news in a statement.
“I have had the privilege of working with Mayor Giuliani for many years, and we welcome his expertise,” Sekulow said.
In a statement to the Post, Giuliani said, “It is an honor to be a part of such an important legal team, and I look forward to not only working with the President but with Jay, Ty, and their colleagues.”
Giuliani went on to say that he wants to “negotiate an end” to the ongoing Russia investigation.
“I’m doing it because I hope we can negotiate an end to this for the good of the country and because I have high regard for the president and for Bob Mueller,” Giuliani said.
Trump has been constantly denied by multiple attorneys to work for his legal team.
