House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) is being dragged all over the internet after posing for a photo with a man wearing a shirt that said “Repeal and go f— yourself.”
The image surfaced on Twitter Saturday. The user who posted the image tagged former Obama speechwriter Jon Favreau, a co-host for the podcast, who responded to the post.
“Oh my God, this is amazing!”, he tweeted. Other users were also quick to praise the picture:
The House narrowly passed legislation aimed at repealing and replacing ObamaCare this week, taking a major step toward a long-held GOP goal and setting in motion an overhaul of the nation’s health system.
The narrow party-line 217-213 vote was a victory for GOP leaders, who heralded the legislation’s passage with President Trump during an event in the White House Rose Garden on Thursday afternoon.
Trump said during the event that he was confident the Senate would also vote to repeal Obama’s signature healthcare law, though GOP leaders have acknowledged difficulty in getting such legislation through the Senate, where they hold just a two-seat majority.
Democrats blasted the measure as a “tax cut for millionaires” and “immoral.”
