Ryan Tweet On Classified Information Comes Back To Haunt Trump After Bombshell Report

In 2016, Republicans railed against Clinton’s ‘extremely careless’ behavior. Now they’ve got a Trump problem.
House Speaker Paul Ryan was one of Clinton’s most notorious attackers. In July, the Wisconsin Republican fired off a blistering tweet declaring that “Individuals who are ‘extremely careless’ with classified information should be denied further access to such info,” referring to former FBI Director James Comey’s on statement that Hillary Clinton’s handling of sensitive information.
Well, the tweet resurfaced on Monday afternoon soon after a report claiming that President Trump revealed highly classified information to top Russian officials.

Ryan’s 2016 tweet followed his call for then-Democratic candidate Clinton to no longer receive classified information as a candidate.
The tweet was reposted by social media users after The Washington Post reported that Trump divulged information from a foreign intelligence source with expertise on the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria to the Russian foreign minister and ambassador during their Oval Office meeting last week.
Several lawmakers and members of the media reposted or retweeted Ryan’s message.
