Watch: Chris Cuomo Torches Sarah Sanders For Supporting Trump’s Racist Immigration Policy
Appearing on CNN for an interview with Chris Cuomo, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders got cornered over Donald Trump’s immigration agenda, unable to defend Trump’s suggestion that he only wants you if you’re “rich and white.”
Cuomo fact-checked the White House secretary and confronted her about the racism behind Trump’s immigration agenda.
The CNN host pressed Sanders and said that Trump’s real goal is to end America’s family reunification immigration policy, which has been in place for decades.
He also blasted her for falsely claiming that this policy allows immigrants to bring over an unlimited number of relatives from their countries into the United States.
“The idea, what the president said last night, somebody can bring in as many people as they want,” Cuomo said. “It’s just not true. It’s not true in the facts, not true in reality.”
Sanders tried to rebuttal by saying that Trump’s idea is to protect the security of the American people. Cuomo wasn’t having it and fired right back at Sanders with Trump’s own words.
“He wants people to come to the country but not those certain s-hole countries,” he said, referring to Trump’s declaration that we shouldn’t be accepting immigrants from “shithole” African countries. “He wants them rich and white. That’s not America.”
Sanders then tried claiming that Trump’s immigration policies are “colorblind,” but Cuomo reminded her of all the nasty things Trump has said about immigrants in the past.
