White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders is set to leave the White House after announcing her departure. But on Monday, during the first press briefing the Trump administration held in over 100 days, Sanders was nowhere to be found.
Instead, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin delivered a White House news briefing on new sanctions imposed on Iran.
The White House imposed sanctions against Iran and its ruler in retaliation for shooting down a U.S. drone last week.
Donald Trump implemented the sanctions Monday by executive order, and briefly took questions from reporters in the Oval Office.
