Sen. Duckworth Uses Old McConnell Tweet To Destroy His Call To Expedite SCOTUS Vote
Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) used Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell’s 2016 tweet against him to argue against delaying a vote for President Trump’s nominee to replace Justice Anthony Kennedy on the Supreme Court.
Following Kennedy’s announcement that he was retiring, McConnell took to the Senate floor to call a vote in the fall on President Trump’s second Supreme Court nominee.
Senator Duckworth, however, shut down McConnell’s demand by using his own words against him.
