During Tuesday night’s Vice Presidential Debate, Mike Pence managed to dodge every single Trump scandal thrown at him. Because of that, Republicans will say Governor Mike Pence won. But for the common-sense viewer, Senator Tim Kaine won. By addressing women’s reproductive rights, he made the views of Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party crystal clear, and he stated those views with strength, conviction, and compassion.
Below is the short video Tim Kaine addressing Pence. As Kaine was making his point, Pence was mumbling. He was mumbling and acting like he wanted to interrupt but knowing—he had nothing.
Here’s the transcript:
“Why don’t you trust women to make this choice for themselves? We can encourage people to support life, of course, we can, but why don’t you trust women? Why doesn’t Donald Trump trust women to make this choice for themselves. That’s what we ought to be doing in public life — living our lives of faith or motivation with enthusiasm and excitement convincing each other, dialoguing with each other about important moral issues of the day, but on fundamental issues of morality, we should let women make their own decisions. “
As Mother Jones put it: “It’s that simple. You want to take away the reproductive rights from 51% of the American population, guess what? You lose, Mike Pence and Donald Trump. You lose.
Thank you, Senator Kaine.”
