Donald Trump took to Twitter to spread his xenophobia by claiming that the United States has been quick to detain the coronavirus because the country shut down its borders.
Trump tweeted out saying:
“With approximately 100,000 CoronaVirus cases worldwide, and 3,280 deaths, the United States, because of quick action on closing our borders, has, as of now, only 129 cases (40 Americans brought in) and 11 deaths,” Trump claimed. “We are working very hard to keep these numbers as low as possible!”

Again, Trump shares numbers while offering no sort of evidence to back them up. Trump is talking to his base, who will eat up anything he says and assume it’s the truth. But the rest of us don’t buy it. Here’s how Twitter users responded to the president:

I have first hand experience on this front. Daughter recalled from Italy two days ago. Has fever and cough. Hospital refused to test unless her condition was ‘dire’ or linked to a ‘dire’ case.
