Store Clerk Wrestles Gun Out Of Florida Man Who Shot Him Twice In Racially Provoked Brawl
A brawl that did not end well. A newly released surveillance footage from a local gas station in Florida City shows a fight break out between the store clerk and a customer who was shouting racial slurs.
According to ABC News 10, 34-year-old Jesus Rodriguez was attempting to buy alcohol when the clerk told him he couldn’t sell him any because Rodriguez was visibly intoxicated.
Rodriguez then became frustrated with the clerk and began to shout racist slurs, calling the clerk a “n-gger.”
The clerk responded with his own prejudiced rant and told Rodriguez to stop talking “that Spanish bullsh*t” and advised him to “get the f*ck out of here.”
That’s when things got more serious. The clerk tried to push Rodriguez out of the store but Rodriguez then drew a gun. The two men then engaged in a struggle that would result in the clerk getting shot in the head and back, and Rodriguez getting shot by his own weapon in the arm.
Both men were taken to a nearby hospital and treated for their wounds.
According to the report, Rodriguez was charged with attempted murder, trespassing, displaying a firearm while committing a felony and carrying a concealed firearm without a concealed weapons permit.
