On Saturday, Donald Trump attempted to use the reported London attacks to push his absurd Muslim travel ban into the US. Without sending his thoughts or condolences to the victims of the tragic incident, Trump tweeted: “We need to be smart, vigilant and tough. We need the courts to give us back our rights. We need the Travel Ban as an extra level of safety!” Well, it quickly backfired.
Republican Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) said Sunday that she does not agree with President Trump’s recent tweet that the United States needs his “travel ban as an extra level of safety.”
“I think that the travel ban is too broad and that is why it has been rejected by the courts,” Collins told CBS’s “Face the Nation.”
Collins, who sits on the Senate Intelligence Committee, said the United States needs to do a “better job of vetting” but rejected Trumps renewed calls for his executive order on travel and immigration.
Sorry, Donnie, not everyone in your party is a crazy racist.
