Former “30 Rock” and “SNL” star Tina Fey won over the American public with a hilarious roast on both Donald Trump and Mike Pence while hosting the American Civil Liberties Union’s (ACLU) telethon “Stand for Rights: A Benefit for the ACLU.”
She started off by saying that her and Trump have two things in common:
“One, neither of us has any business wearing khakis with a shirt tucked in, and two, we’re both very upset about the amount of fake news out in the world right now. So, don’t let any website tell you that the ACLU stands for Anti Christian Lesbian Underground.”
She went on to blast Trump about his sexual harassment cases after he announced earlier Friday that April is be National Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month.
“Earlier tonight, in what is surely an April Fools’ joke, the president proclaimed that next month will be National Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month, so now we know what he gave up for Lent.”
Fey then went on to poke fun at the Vice President.
“Luckily, Mike Pence isn’t allowed to go down and shut Planned Parenthood unless his wife goes with him. So, if we can just keep Karen busy scrapbooking, we can all still get Pap smears,” she said.
Besides all the jokes, Fey did talk about the issues that matter. She described the services offered by the ACLU, and encouraged people to donate.
The ACLU has received tens of millions of dollars in donations — more than it typically brings in annually — since it sued over President Trump’s first travel ban, which he signed in January. The organization says it has also gotten a major membership boost since Trump’s election.
