Teacher Arrested After Firing Gun And Barricading Himself In a Classroom At Georgia High School

A teacher is in custody after police responded to reports of shots fired at a high school in Dalton, Georgia.

In a series of tweets, the Dalton Police Department reported that a subject, believed to be a teacher, was arrested after barricading himself in a classroom at Dalton High School.

No children were hurt or in danger, authorities said.

The incident comes two weeks after a gunman opened fire at a high school in Parkland, Fla., killing 17 people and injuring several others.

Several people have been arrested in the weeks since for making threats to schools across the country.

Dalton High School is located in northwest Georgia, near the Tennessee-Georgia border.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
