Texas Cop Who Fatally Shot Black Woman Charged With Murder
Fort Worth Police Chief Ed Kraus said Monday Aaron Dean resigned hours before he planned to fire him.
A Texas police officer who fatally shot a black woman inside her home over the weekend has been arrested and charged with murder, according to local jail records.

The arrest of Aaron Dean, 35, took place just hours after resigned from the Fort Worth Police Department on Monday.

Authorities said Dean was responding to a call for a welfare check call at her home after one of her neighbors noticed her front door was slightly ajar when he “drew his duty weapon and fired” at a “perceived threat.”

Dean is being held at Tarrant County Correction Center on a $200,000 bond, according to Tarrant County jail records.
