Texas Gov. Just Threatened To Use The Second Amendment To Shoot Reporters

Just two days after Montana Rep.-elect Greg Gianfort physically attacked a reporter for questioning him about the GOP’s plan to replace Obamacare, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) joked about shooting reporters.

Abbott was practicing his shooting when he showed off his target sheet to a group of reporters after signing a bill reducing licensing fees for handguns, according to the Texas Tribune’s Patrick Svitek.

“I’m gonna carry this around in case I see any reporters,” Abbott reportedly joked.

Abbott’s statements came after Gianforte attacked The Guardian Reporter Ben Jacobs.

Gianforte was charged with a misdemeanor assault and later apologized to Jacobs for the altercation.

“I should not have responded in the way that I did, and for that I’m sorry. I should not have treated that reporter that way, and for that I am sorry, Mr. Ben Jacobs,” he said.
