Just one week after the tragic shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, Americans from all over the country have donated money to organizations advocating for smarter gun laws.
According to the Daily Beast, the gun control advocacy group founded by former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords (R-AZ) has raised more than $1.2 million since the tragedy in Florida just last week.
What was most impressive, according to the Beast, was that “the money came from more than 43,000 donors, with the average donation being around $27. That was on Thursday morning. More than 450,000 people have also signed the organization’s “vote courage” pledge, which encourages electoral activism around the issue of gun control. ”
People are speaking out from all over the country. They want smarter gun laws and they are doing something about it. The NRA is definitely scared.
