Donald Trump has been obsessing with having a question about citizenship in the U.S. Census despite the law saying that the question is not needed. The Supreme Court had ruled that the reasoning the Trump administration gave to include did question was not suffice.
On Friday, NPR correspondent Hansi Lo Wang reported that the state of New York is petitioning District Judge Jesse Furman to issue an injunction blocking Trump’s officials from amending the 2020 Census to include a citizenship question:
