This Statement Shows That Trump Sees The Presidency As A Dictatorship And Its Terrifying
Donald Trump is facing multiple lawsuits. His lawyers spoke on Friday about lawsuits involving violence at Trump rallies, stating that he is immune because he is president.
Politico reported that Trump’s attorneys wrote in a federal court filing in response to a lawsuit brought by three protesters, “Mr. Trump is immune from suit because he is President of the United States.”
The three protestors argued that they were roughly removed from a Trump rally in Louisville, Ky., in March 2016.
They’re accusing two Trump supporters, Trump’s campaign and the president himself for allegedly inciting violence at the rally by shouting “get ’em out of here!”
Trump’s lawyers have come up with an excuse as to why he is not to blame, stating that he was not directing the remark at his supporters and that his comments are protected by the First Amendment.
But that defense was dismissed by a federal judge last month, ruling that the remark was “stated in the imperative; it was an order, an instruction, a command.”
According to Politico, the lawyers for one of the protestors, Alvin Bamberger, a man seen pushing a young African-American woman during the rally, stated that Bamberger acted “in response to — and inspired by — Trump and/or the Trump Campaign’s urging to remove the protesters.”
