Tillerson Throws Trump Under The Bus As He Warns Mexico To Watch Out For Russian Election Meddling
Donald Trump has constantly argued that Russia did not hack the presidential election in 2016, he also claims that neither he or his campaign had anything to do with Russia. Trump even went as far as creating an election integrity committee because he lost the popular vote in the election.
On Friday, U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson went against everything Trump has claimed by warning Mexico to watch out for Russian election meddling.
Tillerson said during a trip to Mexico City that European counterparts had noticed that Russia had its fingerprints on a number of elections.
“We hear this from our European counterparts,” the Secretary said. “My advice would be … pay attention to what’s happening.”
Tillerson did not talk about Russia hacking the U.S. Presidential election in 2016, although Facebook has stated that Russia bought 3,000 U.S. political ads and placed 80,000 Facebook posts seen by 126 million Americans over two years.
