Top Marine Fires Off Rebuke Of Trump In Scathing Letter: He ‘F**cked’ Us Over
Gen. Robert Neller, the Marines’ leading general, reportedly allowed two internal emails to be leaked to the media in hopes of protecting military families from Donald Trump’s policies.
According to two Pentagon sources who spoke with Newsweek, Neller allowed the internal memos to be leaked to the Los Angeles Times and NBC News over the past two weeks “because he didn’t want the Marines and families at [North Carolina base] Camp Lejeune to get f***ed.”
In the leaked memos, Neller argued that Trump’s “unplanned/unbudgeted” additions to the military budget are making his job more difficult.
“The combat readiness of II Marine Expeditionary Force—1/3 the combat power of the Marine Corps—is degraded and will continue to degrade given current conditions,” the general wrote in a letter first obtained by the LA Times.
