Top Republican Writes Open Letter Blasting The Trump-Loving GOP As He Quits The Party

Peter Kopf, a former banking executive who has chaired the New Castle County Republican Committee and served on the state party’s executive committee since last year, called it quits on his own political party on Wednesday as he blasted the GOP for nominating a Trump-loving U.S. Senate candidate.

According to the Delaware News Journal, Kopf announced his resignation after Rob Arlett, a loyal Trump supporter, won the party’s nomination in a primary earlier this month.

Kopf wrote an open letter announcing his resignation where he stated that he was unhappy where the Republican Party is heading and no longer wants to be a part of it.

Kopf ended his letter saying:

After 46 years of living and breathing Republican Party politics and many times at the expenses of my family, it is time for me to move on and enjoy my family and retirement.

The entire letter can be read HERE.
