On Tuesday, Vanity Fair reported that top Donald Trump aides are not happy with the president’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani and they want him gone.
According to Vanity Fair‘s resident White House whisperer Gabriel Sherman, both chief of staff John Kelly and White House counsel Don McGahn heavily dislike Giuliani and they have been trying to get rid of him for a while.
“Kelly [has] been trying to get rid of Rudy for two months,” an outside adviser told the reporter. “And Don McGahn hates Rudy with [the] intensity of 1,000 burning suns.”
Even Trump himself has been stressing over Giuliani’s latest television appearances.
“Trump thinks he’s saying too much,” a Republican close to the White House told Sherman, while another said that although the president “likes that Rudy is a fighter,” he’s learned that the fight comes with strings attached.
“He knows there’s a give and take,” another White House insider told Vanity Fair. “The give is Rudy is going to fight for him. The take is that you’re going to get some crazy, too.”
