Donald Trump’s first meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel when she visited the White House was very awkward. The US President denied Merkel a handshake while the whole world was watching.
This time Trump did shake Merkel’s hand but the awkwardness was still there.
Just a day before world leaders descend on Germany for the highly anticipated G20 summit, Trump met up with Merkel in her hometown. The two of them, who don’t see eye-to-eye on many issues, finally shook hands after their first encounter.
