Trump Asked Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein If He’s ‘On My Team’ During Russia Probe Meeting: Report

A new report reveals that Donald Trump asked Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein if he was “on my team” during a December meeting about document requests from House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes.

According to CNN, Rosenstein “appeared surprised” by Trump’s question and responded by saying:

“Of course, we’re all on your team, Mr. President.”

The report states that Rosenstein’s meeting with Trump came “as Rosenstein prepare to testify before the House Judiciary Committee.”

According to a source that spoke with CNN, Trump was highly interested in the status of the ongoing special counsel investigation. He suggested Congress asked Rosenstein as to why he appointed Robert Mueller as special counsel to investigate Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election.

Sources also said that Trump believed Rosenstein was upset Mueller wasn’t selected as FBI director and instead appointed him as special counsel.
