Donald Trump answered questions from reporters on Friday after declaring a national emergency on the coronavirus outbreak. When asked by one reporter if he felt responsible for the lack of testing in the country Trump said it wasn’t his fault but his predecessor.
“I don’t take responsibility at all,” Trump told the crowd of press members in the Rose Garden Friday.
Trump claimed that he was following “rules and regulations” from a “different time” and thus he cannot be blamed for the lack of action taken.
As RawStory reports:
“Trump then moved on to attack former President Barack Obama for not acting on Swine Flu, or H1N1. The Obama administration declared an emergency about a week after the problem was discovered and by this time in the process they had tested 1 million people. Former Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said that the mortality rate for the disease in the United States was 0.002 percent.”
