In a stunning development, a new bombshell report has revealed that U.S. top spy agency warned it’s Israeli counterpart that President Donald Trump could not be trusted because he was being controlled by Russian president Vladimir Putin.
According to Vanity Fair, the CIA told Israeli intelligence agency Mossad that Putin had “leverages of power” over Trump and they should be cautious about sharing sensitive information with the president. Trump, they warned, could turn that information over to the Russians and it could be leaked to Israel’s number one foe, Iran.
As reported by Vanity Fair:
“It was only as the meeting was about to break up that an American spymaster solemnly announced there was “one more thing”: American intelligence agencies had come to believe that Russian president Vladimir Putin had “leverages of pressure” over Trump, he declared without offering further specifics, according to a report in the Israeli press. Israel, the American officials continued, should “be careful.” […] It was possible that sensitive information shared with the White House and the National Security Council could be leaked to the Russians. A moment later the officials added what many of the Israelis had already deduced: it was reasonable to presume that the Kremlin would share some of what they learned with their ally Iran, Israel’s most dangerous adversary.”
Currents of alarm and anger raced through those present at the meeting, says the Israeli source, according to the report. And Trump’s behavior in office has proven that the warning had merit.
In May, Trump met with Russian officials Sergey Lavrov and Sergey Kislyak in the oval office and ordered reporters to exit the room. During that meeting, he did exactly what the CIA warned Israel before he was sworn in – he handed over classified information to the Russians, The Washington Post revealed.
According to the Post, “The information the president relayed had been provided by a U.S. partner through an intelligence-sharing arrangement considered so sensitive that details have been withheld from allies and tightly restricted even within the U.S. government, officials said.”
The report states that the U.S. ally who shared the “code-word information” with Trump never gave him “permission” to hand over the material to anyone else.
“Israel—as well as America’s other allies—would rethink its willingness to share raw intelligence, and pretty much the entire Free World was left shaking its collective head in bewilderment as it wondered, not for the first time, what was going on with Trump and Russia,” Vanity Fair wrote in its explosive report on Wednesday.
But none of this should come as a surprise. During the 2016 presidential campaign, Hillary Clinton repeatedly warned the country –although the media was too busy with its blanket email coverage – that Trump was a “puppet” for Putin. People didn’t listen.
As a result, allies can no longer trust the United States with sensitive information, which undermines the global fight against ISIS, all while Russia – an American adversary – continues to control the U.S. president.
