Trump Claims He Tried To Stop His Racist Base From Chanting ‘Send Her Back’ At Rally, Evidence Shows Otherwise

Donald Trump held another rally on Wednesday night in Greenville, North Carolina, where people started chanting “send her back” after the president attacked Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), accusing her of hating America.
Trump stayed quiet during the chant for a full 12 seconds before continuing with his speech. But now, according to the president himself, he tried to immediately stop the chants from happening.
New York Times journalist Peter Baker reported Trump’s claim on Twitter.
“Trump asserts that he tried to stop the “send her back” chant: “I think I did — I started speaking very quickly.”‘
“I disagree with it … it was quite a chant,” he added.
