Trump Claims To Know More Than U.S. Intelligence About The Russian Hacks

Donald Trump has denied Russia’s interference with the 2016 Presidential Election time and time again. Even after U.S. intelligence came up with the conclusion that Russia did in fact intervened with the election by hacking into the DNC and releasing classified information, Trump still questions them. He even states that he “know[s] a lot about hacking…” and so “they cannot be sure of the situation.”

Trump held his annual New Year’s Eve bash at his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida, where he was asked about the hackings and if Russia was behind it all, to which he answered “hacking is a very hard thing to prove.”

“And I know a lot about hacking. And hacking is a very hard thing to prove,” Trump said. “So it could be somebody else. And I also know things that other people don’t know, and so they cannot be sure of the situation.”

According to NBC News, Trump will be elaborating more on the situation on Tuesday or Wednesday, which is after a scheduled meeting between Trump and the top level officials at the intelligence agencies specifically about hacking.

Trump said in a statement Thursday after the sanctions were announced that “it’s time for our country to move on to bigger and better things,” making it seem as if the hacks were no big deal.
