Donald Trump’s controversial remarks following the violence in Charlottesville last month has caused multiple charities to cancel events at his Palm Beach resort. On Monday the 18th charity decided to cancel their event as well.
The Palm Beach Habilitation Center has decided they will no longer hold its annual Hab-a-Hearts luncheon at the president’s Mar-a-Lago resort.
“We’ve decided to move because we want to keep the focus of the event on our mission, which is to help adults with physical or mental challenges live the best lives possible,” the group’s CEO David Lin told the Daily News.
This is the 18th charity to cancel since Trump’s controversial remarks, but 24 charities in total have canceled events at Mar-a-Lago this year.
