Trump Continues To Profit From His Presidency, Pockets $140,000 From Department Of Defense

A new report by CNN revealed on Wednesday that the Defense Department has spent upwards of $140,000 at Trump-branded properties during the first eight months of Donald Trump’s presidency.

CNN reviewed multiple records and learned that DoD employees spent $138,000 at Trump properties from Hawaii to D.C.

CNN noted that the charges were made with DoD-issued credit cards.

The fact that the government spent taxpayer dollars to stay at Trump-branded properties has raised concerns that Trump is profiting from his presidency and is violating the emoluments clause, a constitutional provision that bars presidents profiting from the office.
