Trump Defies His ‘America First’ Policy, Looks To Hire Foreign Workers For NY Golf Club

The Trump National Golf Club in Westchester County, New York, has asked the federal government for permission to hire more foreign workers, breaking Donald Trump’s policy of “America first.”

According to BuzzFeed News, the Trump golf club filed petitions with the Department of Labor looking to hire foreign employees to work as servers and cooks.

The Westchester club is making the request through the H-2B visa program, which allows U.S. companies to hire foreign workers.

The report noted that “Businesses owned by President Trump or bearing his name have been big users of the controversial H-2 program in the past, seeking to hire more than 400 foreign guest workers since he launched his presidential campaign.”

According to Buzz Feed News, servers would earn a minimum wage of $15.20 an hour, with the possibility of overtime pay at $22.80 an hour. On the other hand, cooks would make $14.36 an hour, with the possibility of overtime at $21.54 an hour.

Trump properties are contradicting the president’s policy to hire American. Even Trump himself defended the idea of his companies hiring foreign workers. He once said that it was “very, very hard to get people” for the jobs.
