Trump Goes Off On Taylor Swift After The Country-Pop Singer Endorses Dem Candidate: Watch
Donald Trump said country-pop singer Taylor Swift “knows nothing” about politics after she decided to show her support for Democratic candidates in Tennessee.
Swift took to Instagram on Sunday to break her silence on politics and announced her endorsement for Democratic candidates in her home state of Tennessee.
Swift wrote that the voting record of Marsha Blackburn, the Tennessee congresswoman running for Senate, “appalls and terrifies” her.
“Her voting record in Congress appalls and terrifies me,” the singer wrote. “She voted against equal pay for women. She voted against the Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, which attempts to protect women from domestic violence, stalking, and date rape. She believes businesses have a right to refuse service to gay couples. She also believes they should not have the right to marry.”
She then endorsed Democrats Phil Bredesen for Senate and Jim Cooper for the House of Representatives.
Trump wasn’t too happy with Swift’s comments and said:
“I’m sure Taylor Swift has nothing — doesn’t know anything about her. And let’s say that I like Taylor’s music about 25 percent less now.”
