President Trump on Sunday morning launched a barrage of angry tweets slamming Robert Mueller’s probe into Russian election interference, demanding the special counsel to end the investigation.
Trump first went after the “failing and crooked” New York Times over its “long & boring story indicating that the World’s most expensive Witch Hunt has found nothing on Russia & me so now they are looking at the rest of the World!”
He also targeted the make up of Mueller’s team and called for an investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton instead of him.
“At what point does this soon to be $20,000,000 Witch Hunt, composed of 13 Angry and Heavily Conflicted Democrats and two people who have worked for Obama for 8 years, STOP!” Trump tweeted, despite the fact that The entire Mueller investigation is run by Republicans.
The Times on Saturday ran a bombshell report revealing that Donald Trump Jr. had met with George Nader, an emissary for the crown princes of the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, during the 2016 campaign.
Nader reportedly told Trump Jr. that the crown princes of both countries were willing to help Trump win the election. The Times report is the first indication that a country other than Russia sought to influence the 2016 election.
According to The Times, an Israeli political strategist named Joel Zamel also reportedly attended the meeting. His company created a plan to manipulate social media in an effort to help elect Trump.
However, Trump has repeatedly attacked the investigation as a “witch hunt” and claimed that the probe is biased against him.
