Well, It didn’t take long for the “real’ Donald Trump to emerge from behind the facade he put on after his speech to Congress. The ‘so called’ president fell back into character on Thursday with a blisteringly unhinged tweetstorm attacking Democrats… over his own scandals.
Trump started off by defending Jeff Sessions, who undeniably lied under oath:
“Jeff Sessions is an honest man. He did not say anything wrong. He could have stated his response more accurately, but it was clearly not….
Let’s face it: it was a lie. Under oath. That’s not honesty. But Trump’s definition of honesty differs from ours.
“He clearly could have stated his response more accurately” should be translated as “more honestly.”
He then followed with his favorite ‘bait and switch’ strategy: blame someone else.
Trump claims the whole thing was not about all the lies Sessions has told but –you guessed it– about Democrats losing “their grip on reality” over the election.
He then pointed his finger at the leaks exposing his corrupt administration.
“The real story is all of the illegal leaks of classified and other information. It is a total “witch hunt!”, Trump wrote.
That was quick. I guess Republicans just learned that reading a speech written by somebody else off a teleprompter will get you only so far.
In the end, nobody can protect Donald Trump and the GOP from Donald Trump.
