The government has been shut down for over a month and Donald Trump has vowed to keep it closed until he gets his funds to build a border wall along the southern border.
But it appears that Trump is getting ready to accept defeat and could soon reopen the government without getting his full funds for the wall.
On Thursday, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders released a statement about the ongoing government shutdown.
“Leader Mitch McConnell and Senator Chuck Schumer are meeting now to see whether or not they can work out of the deadlock. As was made clear to Senator Lindsay Graham, the 3 week CR would only work if there is a large down payment on the wall,” she said.
