Delivering a perfect example of a pathological narcissist, president Donald Trump took to Twitter Monday morning to gripe about the media’s coverage of his administration, showing a vastly over-inflated image of himself and his ideological companions.
“It is amazing how rude much of the media is to my very hard working representatives. Be nice, you will do much better!” Trump wrote on Twiter.
It’s highly ironic for Trump to try and lecture anyone else about the need to “be nice.” This is the guy, remember, who rose to power via attacking anyone and everyone who was within reach.
Twitter users quickly fired back. User @tonyposnanski didn’t hold back:
Trump also addressed the ongoing Republican efforts to repeal and replace ObamaCare, writing on Twitter, “ObamaCare is imploding. It is a disaster and 2017 will be the worst year yet, by far! Republicans will come together and save the day.”
What? “Republicans will come together and save the day”?
Is Trump seriously that far gone in a delusional fantasy land where he’s the superhero saving the townspeople from some monstrous villain?
But what are we supposed to do? Are we just supposed to ignore it when individuals with clout in the Trump White House lie outright? Are we supposed to ignore it when these people refuse to answer our questions? Are we just supposed to ignore it when these people dish out virulent, irrational attacks against targets ranging from President Obama to vulnerable minority groups?
No, we will not ignore any of that. We will report the truth, Mr. Trump.
