Donald Trump encouraged another government shutdown on Tuesday if Democrats don’t pass a new anti-immigration legislation to deal with Latino gangs.
Trump held a discussion at the White House on Tuesday about MS-13 gangs, saying that the laws against gang members aren’t strict enough.
“If we don’t change the legislation, if we don’t get rid of these loopholes, the killers are allowed to come into our country and continue to kill,” Trump said. “If we don’t change it, let’s have a shutdown.”
“We’ll do a shutdown,” he continued. “And it’s worth it for our country. I’d love to see a shutdown if we don’t get this stuff taken care of.”
