Trump Just Threatened To Release Classified Docs To Punish ‘Deep State’

President Trump on Thursday railed against what he calls the “Deep State” and threatened to declassify government documents to expose alleged “corruption” by his political enemies.

In an early morning tweet, the embattled president lambasted “the left” and the “Fake News Media” after the New York Times published an extraordinary op-ed by an anonymous senior administration official revealing what amounts to a coup within the White House.

“The Deep State and the Left, and their vehicle, the Fake News Media, are going Crazy – & they don’t know what to do,” Trump tweeted.

He then threatened to reveal classified information to expose “additional corruption.”

“The Economy is booming like never before, Jobs are at Historic Highs, soon TWO Supreme Court Justices & maybe Declassification to find Additional Corruption. Wow!”

The anonymous opinion piece rocked the White House, with the author blasting the president’s “amorality” and portraying an administration inhabited by aides who had banded together to “thwart” Trump’s worst instincts.

The author, whose identity is known by top opinion editors at the Times, seemed to anticipate the reaction from Trump and others who would claim he’s part of the so-called “deep state,” that conservatives often suggest is undermining Trump.

“This isn’t the work of the so-called deep state,” the author wrote. “It’s the work of the steady state.”
