Trump Just Tried To Obstruct Justice Again: ‘Mueller Probe Should Never Have Been Started’

Donald Trump has constantly tried to downplay the ongoing investigation into Russia’s collusion in the 2016 presidential election. On Saturday, he tried to discredit special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation again.

“The Mueller probe should never have been started in that there was no collusion and there was no crime,” Trump wrote on Twitter.

“It was based on fraudulent activities and a Fake Dossier paid for by Crooked Hillary and the DNC, and improperly used in FISA COURT for surveillance of my campaign. WITCH HUNT!”

Trump’s tweet came hours after his attorney John Dowd released a statement calling on Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to shut down the investigation.

This isn’t the first time Trump has referred to the investigation as a “witch hunt.”

Trump has also been criticized for obstruction of justice when he decided to fire former FBI Director James Comey after he reportedly told him to end the investigation.

On Friday Attorney General Jeff Sessions fired former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe. Following his firing, McCabe told CNN that he had a memo of conversations he with Trump.

On Saturday, McCabe met with Mueller’s team and handed them the memo.
