It’s not the first time and it will probably not be the last, but Donald Trump has been taking credit for a lot of things former President Barack Obama did during his years in office.
On Monday, Trump tried taking credit for improvements in veteran care despite it starting under Obama.
But fact-checkers made sure to put Trump on check.
According to an Associated Press fact check that was published on Memorial Day, “President Donald Trump and his Veterans Affairs secretary are claiming full credit for health care improvements that were underway before they took office.”
The AP determined that Trump falsely claimed that he passed a private-sector health care plan for veterans for the first time “in 45 years.” In fact, the program, called Veterans Choice, was first signed into law by Obama.
