Trump Personally Interfered In Russia Probe, New Report Reveals
According to a new Foreign Policy report, Donald Trump made the decision to personally tell former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon not to answer any questions from the House Intell about Russia.
“President Donald Trump personally made the decision to curtail the testimony of former chief White House political strategist Steve Bannon before the House Intelligence Committee, according to two people with firsthand knowledge of the matter.Trump acted to limit Bannon’s testimony based on legal advice provided by Uttam Dhillon, a deputy White House counsel, who concluded that the administration might have legitimate executive privilege claims to restrict testimony by Bannon and other current and former aides to the president, according to these same sources.”
On Thursday, former Watergate prosecutor Nick Ackerman said that Bannon’s back-and-forth was suspicious and that it’s proof that Trump is trying to hide something.
“There’s no such thing a ‘president-elect privilege,’” he said. “I’m extremely skeptical, here. To me, it all looks like a coverup.”
