Trump Rips ‘America Hating’ Omar, ‘Nightmare’ AOC, Claims He Will Win Minnesota
President Donald Trump continued his relentless attacks on Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar (D) on Tuesday, slamming the progressive Democrat as “America hating” and declaring that will help him win the state in 2020. He also called Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the rest of “the squad” a “nightmare for America.”
“In 2020, because of America hating anti-Semite Rep. Omar, & the fact that Minnesota is having its best economic year ever, I will win the State! ‘We are going to be a nightmare to the President,’ she say. No, AOC Plus 3 are a Nightmare for America!,” the president Tweeted Tuesday morning.
Trump narrowly lost Minnesota to former Secretary Hillary Clinton in 2016. No Republican presidential candidate has won the state since 1972.
Trump has ramped up his attacks on Omar and other progressive freshmen congresswomen in recent weeks after tweeting telling them to “go back” to where they came from.
At a recent Trump rally, the crowd chanted “send her back” when Trump again attacked Omar. He let the chant continue for 13 seconds, only speaking after it died down.
Omar’s base and hometown voters still support the progressive they elected in 2018. She was welcomed back last week to a crowd at a Minnesota airport chanting “Welcome home Ilhan,” in a video she shared on Twitter.
A CBS/YouGov poll conducted last week found Omar had a net favorability rating among Democrats, especially liberal Democrats.
In 2016 I almost won Minnesota. In 2020, because of America hating anti-Semite Rep. Omar, & the fact that Minnesota is having its best economic year ever, I will win the State! “We are going to be a nightmare to the President,” she say. No, AOC Plus 3 are a Nightmare for America!
