Trump Tweets ‘Louisiana, I’ll See You Tonight’ Ahead Of Mississippi Visit
President Donald Trump on Friday fired off a tweet saying he was looking forward to visiting Louisiana later in the evening, but there was one big problem: He was going to Mississippi.
“Louisiana, I’ll see you tonight,” Trump said in a tweet that was later deleted. “Big Rally for Eddie R. He will be a GREAT GOVERNOR. Early voting starts! @EddieRispone.”
But Trump’s schedule said he’s holding a rally Friday in Tupelo, Mississippi, where Republican Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves is in a tight race with Democratic Attorney General Jim Hood for the right to move into the governor’s mansion.
Trump’s rally in Tupelo, Mississippi, is designed to bolster Reeves’ chances.
Trump’s tweet was quickly deleted, but not before people took screenshots and saved it for eternity.
While Trump deleted his tweet about the phantom Louisiana visit, he kept up a post promoting Rispone in the governor’s race.
“Our Republican candidate @EddieRispone is a successful conservative businessman who will stand with me to create jobs and protect your Second Amendment,” Trump tweeted.
