Donald Trump just nominated a Willam Barr for Attorney General. But what the president didn’t seem to know, is that Barr has been good friends with special counsel Robert Mueller for over 20 years.
According to Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Barr has no intentions of stopping the Mueller investigation.
“I asked Mr. Barr directly, ‘Do you think Bob, Mr. Mueller’s, on a witch hunt?’ He said no. ‘Do you think he would be fair to the president and the country as a whole?’ He said yes,” Graham said, according to Bloomberg News.
Graham also revealed that both Mueller and Barr have been friends for decades.
“They’ve been personal friends for over 20 years,” Graham noted. “His opinion of Mr. Mueller is very, very high in terms of ethics and character and professionalism.”
It is yet unknown if Trump knew about the Barr/Mueller friendship prior to nominating him for the position.
