Get Ready. Trump’s Tax Returns Might Be Coming Soon Thanks To This New Bill
Donald Trump’s tax returns have been one of the biggest topics of the new administration. Multiple sources from the White House, including Trump himself, have already said that that those tax returns will not be released.
But a new bill introduced by Democrats in New York might just change that.
According to The Associated Press, New York Democrats have introduced a bill that would require the state to release five years of President Trump’s state tax returns.
“This is drawing a line in the sand: Are you for transparency or not?” Sen. Brad Hoylman (D) of Manhattan told the AP. “This is an issue of national security.”
According to the AP, the bill is likely to get full support from the Democratic-controlled New York Assembly, but faces odds in the state Senate, which is controlled by Republicans.
Trump has been refusing to release his tax returns due to an ongoing audit. But the IRS has state that an audit does not prevent people from releasing their tax returns.
