Trump Now Using Organized Crime Tactics Against Political Opponents
Donald Trump’s ties to organized crime are quickly becoming more evident as the executive branch resorts to arm-twisting and blackmailing —as a weapon against the president’s political opponents— in order to get Trump’s agenda under way.
On Thursday, Trump threatened to leave millions of Americans without health insurance by cutting funds to government subsidies for lower-income people, wich will bring down the exchanges and cripple the health care marketplace, if Democrats don’t agree to fund the wall and his mass-deportation plan.
Democrats issued a powerful response to Trump’s threat, making it clear that they are not backing down from any pressure they receive from Trump and his Republican allies.
“We have the leverage and they have the exposure,” Dem leader Nancy Pelosi stated. She also said that because Republicans are in the majority, keeping the government funded will be seen as “their responsibility.”
But Trump’s mafia-style approach to government is just getting started. The erratic president warned Democrats on Sunday that Obamacare was in trouble and would die without government funding.
“Obamacare is in serious trouble. The Dems need big money to keep it going – otherwise it dies far sooner than anyone would have thought,” Trump said in a Twitter post.
Democrats are not the only target of Trump’s blackmailing scheme. Republican Sen. Mark Sanford told CNN on Sunday morning that he’d been threatened by President Donald Trump if he voted against the American Health Care Act.
Trump’s mafia-style government is only the beginning of America’s problems under the Trump administration. The American people are starting to realize that they have traded one of the most ethical administrations in history for one that scoffs at the concept of government for the people.
Donald Trump’s possible links with organized crime have been under scrutiny for many years.
“There have been multiple media reports about Donald’s business dealings with the mob, with the mafia,” Sen. Ted Cruz said on Meet the Press before the election. “Maybe his taxes show those business dealings are a lot more extensive than has been reported.”
Cruz suggested Donald Trump is “terrified to release his taxes” because they may reveal his true net worth, his donations to liberal causes, or his connection to organized crime.”
