Trump’s Top Medicaid Doctor Goes Against The Administration And Opposes The GOP’s New Healthcare Plan

Dr. Andrey Ostrovsky, the Trump administration’s top doctor, is not taking sides with Trump, Paul Ryan, or any other Congressional Republican when it comes to the new plan they imposed, the American Health Care Act.

Dr. Ostrovsky tweeted Wednesday night where he reference the organization American Association of Family Physicians (AAFP), who in a letter to House Ways and Means Committee Chair Rep. Kevin Brady expressed their concerns about TrumpCare.

The letter read:

“The AAFP is concerned that your proposal falls short of this objective and will result in millions of currently insured individuals losing their health care coverage, including those who currently have employer-based coverage. We are equally concerned that the phased-in implementation outlined in your proposal will destabilize insurance markets over the next three years and directly harm millions of people. We strongly disagree with statements that suggest the AHCA will provide every American “access to health care coverage.” “Access to health care coverage” is distinctly different than “securing health care coverage.” The AAFP’s goal is to ensure that every American “secures health care coverage.”

The reason doctors are so concerned about the new healthcare act is because it gives the power back to health insurance companies. The Obamacare replacement puts back into place the dynamic of health insurance companies having control over the care that doctors can provide. This means that insurance companies will be back in charge of the health of the American people.

This should raise a red flag for Republicans to discontinue their attempt at the new bill.
