Donald Trump Jr. on Monday fired off a tweet accusing former President Barack Obama administration and the FBI for being corrupt as the bureau continues its investigation into his father’s potential obstruction of justice and his campaign connection with Russia during the 2016 presidential election.
From a reliable source, historical context: Obama WH Cronies: Look how corrupt we can be!” Don Jr. tweeted. Liberal FBI Bigwigs: Hold my white wine spritzer!” the president’s son wrote on Twitter.
Trump Jr.’s tweet comes days after the Justice Department notified lawmakers that the FBI will continue its investigation into the Russia election meddling despite House Republicans calls for an ending to the investigation and the firing of special counsel Robert Mueller’s team.
Some Republicans have accused Mueller of being biased against the president. and Trump himself has frequently railed against the Mueller investigation, calling it a “witch hunt” and insisting there was no collusion.
However, Twitter users disagree and were quick to respond to Don Jr.’s tweet. It wasn’t pretty.
