U.S. Ambassador Praises London Mayor After Trump Attacked Him On Twitter

Donald Trump, instead of showing remorse for London after the attack on the London Bridge, criticized London’s Mayor through Twitter on Sunday morning.

After Trump’s criticism of London Mayor, Sadiq Kahn, the acting U.S. ambassador to the United Kingdom praised the mayor for his response to this weekend’s terrorist attack, after President Trump criticized Khan on Twitter.

“The response from emergency services, law enforcement and officials in [London] – as well as ordinary Londoners – has been extraordinary,” Ambassador Lewis Lukens wrote.

Trump tweeted out Sunday morning:

“At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is ‘no reason to be alarmed!'”

Trump was referring to Kahn’s comments to the people of London.

“Londoners will see an increased police presence today and over the course of the next few days,” Khan said in a statement given to the BBC.
